Research is not permanently true. Markets change, policies change, people change. Knowledge past its review window shows up wearing the full confidence of a verified source, and only the date gives it away. Kofa flags it before you act on it, not after the decision is made.

When a newer engagement on the same question reports evidence that contradicts an older record, Kofa flags a change; it never decides the truth changed. The signal is derived from the record and its siblings, with a cached projection that is re-derived every night, so it clears when the conditions move again.
The clock is per type
Each knowledge type has its own currency period: regulatory knowledge expires faster than operational practice. The next-review date derives from type + as-of, never a universal rule.
Version chain
Old versions are kept, never deleted — each one states what changed.
Time
Assets age on a schedule. Every record carries its date, and the date appears before the content.
Events
Policy and market monitoring — gazettes, circulars, reforms — plus the coordinator network on the ground.

The cheapest signal: ask the same person “is this still true?” — a check, not a new engagement.
